Health and safety is extremely important to Wild Explorers. We have several policies in place that staff and visitors are familiar with. Our kaiako scan the area in the morning for any hazards on the check list then the tamariki also complete their own hazard check each morning so that they start to have a sense of responsibility for themselves and others.
Our teachers all hold current first aid certificates and there will always be a first aid kit on the premises.
The teachers guide and support the children to feel empowered to take risks within their daily exploration so that they are able to understand the difference between healthy risks and dangerous ones. We encourage them to weigh the potential benefits and drawbacks before making decisions.

The New Zealand Education and training Act 2020, states that children can be released one day a week to attend a 1-day programme (EOTC). Permission is to be granted from the Principal.
We are happy to talk to any teachers or Principals if they have any questions and or we can write a letter with the necessary information. At the end of the day, we are all here to support your child to thrive and succeed in this world.

At this stage, all bookings need to be made via email to wildexplorers.ns@gmail.com
To secure your child’s spot in the programme, they must be enrolled for an entire term and payment and or deposit must be received before your child can attend. Email Stacey if there are any questions.
Term payments can be made in one payment or fortnightly installments. Please discuss this with Stacey

With a little planning and supervision, rain can be a wonderful opportunity for children to learn, grow, and have fun!
Rain provides sensory stimulation, change in physical activity, inspires creativity, builds a connection to nature, offers opportunities to learn about water cycles and builds resilience!
We will only cancel if the weather warnings are too dangerous and it would be unsafe to operate. If we decide to cancel, you will be refunded or credited the day towards the next term.

Nature play provides a holistic and enriching environment that supports children's physical, cognitive, social, and emotional development. By encouraging children to spend time outdoors and connect with nature, we can help them grow into well-rounded and resilient individuals.
We have seen first hand how a childs confidence within themselves, sense of belonging, attitude and enthusiasm for learning has positively changed through spending time learning outdoors.
